Welcome To Our New Taiping Toastmasters Club Blog

Hello, everyone.  I am TM Aileen Oon Lay Wah, the Vice President of  Education ( VPE ) of the Taiping Toastmasters Club and the administrator of this new blog for our club.  I have just attended the Toastmasters International, District 51, 22nd Annual Conference at One Helang Hotel in Langkawi Island from 1 till 3 May, 2015.  Our club President, TM Lawrence Yong, TM Corrine Eng ,TM Angie Ng and I arrived a day earlier to do some shopping a sight-seeing.

A year ago, I joined Toastmasters for self-development and fellowship.  I am glad I have taken on this journey and I have found my wings indeed and will be soaring up high .  I realised I need to polish my oratory and communication skills and be a better leader to be able to serve society and of course, my own family better.  I am proud to be part of the Toastmasters International family now.

At the Langkawi Conference, I celebrated my own first anniversary as I have told my fellow club members I am a year old baby and I still need their guidance .  Thanks to fellow Toastmasters for helping me learn and grow and I am confident as I have the potentials in me.

After attending a number of COT workshops, Taiping Toastmasters Club meetings, Speech Contests and events in Toastmasters in Ipoh, Butterworth and Langkap and the District 51 Semi-Annual Conference in Kuala Lumpur last year and the District 51 Annual Conference in Langkawi recently, I have indeed benefited from them all.

This special blog is one of the ways to reach out to fellow Toastmasters in my club and others and also members of the public who may be interested to join us.  It is easier for them to contact us if they wish to do so.  We welcome them all to be part of our happy family .  Together we will try to "spread our wings " and expand to reach our club goals and glory.

Thank you.
Aileen Oon Lay Wah
